There is a process to how a merchant obtains funds for purchases on Credit Cards and Debit Cards. The first step is they submit for approval, we approve or decline the transaction based on the funds available in your account. When a transaction is approved a hold is placed on your account. This hold reserves the funds in your account for that particular merchant. The second step is the merchant has to collect on the funds. Lastly, the funds are transferred from our bank to the merchant and the transaction is complete.
