To remove a joint owner from an account both parties would need to be present to sign a joint owner removal form in a branch. When it is not an option for both parties to be present the forms would need to be notarized. If the joint party is not able to sign, the primary member would need to close the account and open a new account. To remove a beneficiary from an account please visit one of our branches to complete our Account Maintenance request form. When it is not an option to visit a branch, we require forms to be notarized. For remote requests you may request the forms over the phone at 203-377-2252 or by using our secure email link when logged into online banking.
